Taper's notes [as of late 2009]: "This recording has been circulating since '98 however this version is a new master cassette transfer from my original analog master tape (Dec. 2009). Great show from the Cryptic Writings tour. I may be in the minority but Cryptic is my favorite Megadeth cd. This was my 3rd Megadeth show and the first time i saw them as a headliner. The opening acts were Sevendust and Monster Magnet, i did not tape either of them. The recording was from Sec DD Row B. Great venue for shows, some of my all time favorite shows have been here, some i wish i would have recorded but did not. It's a fairly small venue compared the the big outdoor Amphitheatres around the country, i think it holds about 5000. Anyway enjoy the recording."
This is really a major upgrade! As for the show itself - usual setlist for this tour. The last but one show with Nick!! Dave says that the previous night they played in the town Dave lives in (Phoenix, AZ) and he said that he was very pleased to play the next night in the city he was born in, i.e. San Diego, CA. |
